Second Annual Texas Hold'em Tournament

The Noon Rotary Club of Mammoth Lakes is hosting a Second Annual "No Limit Texas Hold'em" Poker Tournament on Sunday, June 1, 2008 at 12:00 noon under the big top at The Village in Mammoth Lakes.  A $65.00 (Pre-registration) buy-in gets you $2,500 in chips.  Registration is $75.00 at the door.  Great prizes for top finishers!  The Rotary Club will be barbecuing and beverages will be available for purchase.  If you don't play cards, just come, have lunch, participate in the raffle and help the Rotary Club help Mammoth Lakes.  All proceeds will go to our academic scholarship programs for Mammoth High School and other goood works that Rotary does.  To Pre-register, or if you are a business in town that would like to donate a raffle prize, please contact Mark Deeds at 760-709-1629.

The Noon Rotary Club of Mammoth Lakes would like to thank the Mammoth Lakes Community for its support of our recently held Second Annual Open Hold’em Tournament. It was a successful event. The Rotary raised approximately $5,000 to supplement our community giving.

Special thanks to the Village at Mammoth, who donated the use of their big tent and staff for the event, Lakanuki for generously donating the poker table tops, Mammoth Brewing Company for their famous Beer truck, Mammoth Crossing Development for their contribution towards advertising, the Mammoth Times, the Sheet, Channel 72, the Sierra Wave and Stu’s News for their Public Service Announcements, Mammoth Media Group for flyer design and to the Lion’s Club for chairs and tables.

Thank you to our local individuals and businesses who contributed the prizes:  Mammoth Mountain Ski Area, Jerry and Trish Dunlap, George Fowler, Wave Rave, Footloose, Mammoth Brewing Company, NPG Cable, Inc., Rick’s Sporting Goods, Kittredge Sports, Snowcreek Golf Course, Big Dave’s Guide Service, Bonnie Colgan Photography, Elegant Bath and Kitchen, Petra’s, Clocktower, Carmichael Business Technologies, N.T.R.D Mobile Detail, Goodlife, Sushi Rei, Mammoth Business Essentials, Mammoth Ski Museum, Chato, Starbucks in the Village, Tiger Bar and Café, Old New York Deli and Base Camp Café. A very big thank you to Tournament Director Bud Duggan without who’s help we could not have run a successful tournament, Teri Hoeschen, a real pro, and volunteer dealers Lane Duggan,  Neil Scott, Jason Fitz, and all the way from Bishop Robert Beach, David French and David Bakhta, for their invaluable advice and participation.

It was great fun, you should have been there. We’ll be back next year, Bigger and Better.
